Initially developed to familiarize management students with the problems that have shaped the business world in the past and the solutions implemented to address them, early studies in this field focused on individual case studies. However, Alfred Chandler paved the way for comparative historical studies that offered theoretical explanations for business growth. The scope of business history is broad, encompassing the history of management processes, actors, organizations, stakeholders, and contexts.
