Whistleblowing can be defined as the disclosure of confidential information in the public interest. The whistleblower plays a key role in exposing scandals involving corruption, illegal practices, and wrongdoing. By revealing unlawful or unethical behavior, whistleblowers help strengthen public trust and promote corporate accountability. The information they disclose can lead to positive changes within organizations as well as in society as a whole. The 2016 “Sapin” law aims to protect these courageous individuals, who often risk their reputation and career to expose the truth.
